Privacy Policy – Cubie
Cubie is an Android learning app that teaches how to solve the 3×3 cube. It is free, has no ads, no in-app purchases and no user accounts. This policy briefly explains what happens to data in the app.
1. Controller
futurprojekt s.r.o., Company ID 29308321, registered office Tyršova 1272, 755 01 Vsetín, Czech Republic, operating the pixelsky.cz brand
Email: info@futurprojekt.com
Website: https://pixelsky.cz
2. What we process
The app works offline. Your lesson progress, settings and timer results stay on your phone only and are not sent anywhere.
The app sends two kinds of technical data through Google Firebase:
- Crash reports and diagnostics (Firebase Crashlytics). When the app crashes, a crash report is sent: device model, Android version, app version, the state of the app at the moment of the crash and a technical error trace.
- Usage statistics (Firebase Analytics). Simple events such as "stop opened" or "stop completed". They help us see which lessons are clear and which need improvement.
Both kinds of data are tagged with pseudonymous installation identifiers (the Firebase installation ID, the Analytics app instance ID and the Crashlytics installation UUID). They are not linked to a name or an email and cannot be attributed to a specific person. During transmission, Google also technically processes the device's IP address (needed to connect to its servers).
What we do not collect: no names, emails or accounts (the app has no accounts), no location, no photos, videos or audio, no contacts, no files from your device. The Advertising ID is not collected: the permission for it is removed from the app, and collection of the advertising ID and ad personalization in Analytics are switched off. The app contains no advertising libraries; the only analytics library is Firebase from Google.
If you send an email to info@futurprojekt.com or a message through the "Ideas and feedback" form on cubie.pixelsky.cz, we process the content of the message and any details you choose to include (name or nickname and email are optional in the form), only to answer you and improve the app. Messages from the web form are stored in our spreadsheet in Google Forms and Sheets (Google Ireland Limited). There is no automated decision-making or profiling.
3. Why we process data
- to fix bugs and keep the app stable,
- to improve lessons and controls based on what kids and parents actually do in the app.
We do not use the data for advertising or selling.
4. Legal basis
Legitimate interest of the controller (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): keeping the app working and safe, and improving it. We limit the processing to a minimum of technical and statistical data without a name or email, so the impact on your rights and freedoms is small. We process your email to answer your question on the same basis.
5. Recipients and storage
The technical data is processed on our behalf by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) as a processor within the Firebase services. We do not sell the data and do not share it with any other recipients. Google may carry out part of the processing outside the EU, based on standard contractual clauses and other safeguards described in the Firebase terms.
More information: https://policies.google.com/privacy and https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
6. Retention
- Crashlytics (crash reports): 90 days.
- Firebase Analytics: 14 months (set by the controller in Google Analytics).
- Emails and web form messages: only as long as needed to handle your question, and for ideas at most 2 years.
After these periods, Firebase data is deleted automatically.
7. Children
The app is also intended for children aged 9 and up. It does not require registration and does not collect a name, email or location. We process technical and statistical data on the basis of legitimate interest, to a minimal extent, giving particular weight to children's interests. Parents can write to us at info@futurprojekt.com at any time with a question or an objection; the most reliable way to stop any further sending is to uninstall the app (see section 8).
8. Your rights under the GDPR
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and objection. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; in the Czech Republic this is the Office for Personal Data Protection (www.uoou.cz).
Important note: Crashlytics and Analytics data is held under a pseudonymous installation ID that cannot be attributed to a specific person, because we hold no identifying information about them. Under Art. 11 GDPR we are therefore not obliged to collect additional data merely to identify you, and erasure of such data at an individual's request cannot be carried out reliably. If you want to stop any further sending, you can uninstall the app or restrict its network access in Android settings. Data stored only on your phone (progress, times) can be deleted in the app under Settings → Delete progress, or by uninstalling.
9. Security
Data is transferred to Firebase in encrypted form (HTTPS/TLS). The app does not use sensitive device permissions.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The current version is always on this page together with its effective date. We will announce material changes in the app description or in an update.
